Commerce minister hopes lower in petrol costs from Oct 1

KARACHI – Caretaker Commerce and Industries Minister Gohar Ejaz hoped that petrol costs would go down from October 1 because the rupee has registered vital restoration towards greenback within the open market.

The minister was addressing a press convention after he together with Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori held a gathering with businessmen, exporters and others in Karachi on Saturday.

He attributed the historic surge in costs of petroleum costs to large depreciation of rupee towards the buck. He mentioned it was standing at Rs160 towards greenback final 12 months whereas it surged to recent excessive to Rs305 by early September 2023.

The caretaker minister mentioned the federal government is decided to resolve power disaster to facilitate businessmen within the nation.

Gohar Ijaz praised the position of Karachi within the nation’s financial system and mentioned the businessmen of Karachi can single-handedly take the nation out of financial disaster.

Talking on the event, Governor Sindh mentioned efforts are being taken to make sure the availability of low value electrical energy to the customers.
