The string of loud and flashy set items leaves no room for the rest in any respect. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is all clones, cliches and cacophony. They compete with one another to be seen and heard above the din in a cauldron wherein crass extra is the norm.”

“Akshay Kumar, who is clearly the Bade Miyan of the title, Captain Firoz alias Freddy, goes meta for a quick second. Iss khel ke sabse purane khiladi hum hain (I’m the oldest participant on this sport), he says to the unhealthy man, a rogue scientist-entrepreneur (Prithviraj Sukumaran), as they face off in opposition to one another. Freddy is correct. The khiladi act is certainly insufferably purana. It holds no water anymore. It has been squeezed dry,” Saibal Chatterjee added.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
