52 members of the Senate, together with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Deputy Chairman Mirza Afridi, Chief of the Home Ishaq Dar, Chief of the Opposition Dr Shahzad Wasim and Senator Raza Rabbani have accomplished their phrases.
In accordance with the Election Fee announcement, 52 retired senators had been elected in 2018, now the election might be held on April 2 for vacant seats within the Senate.
The Election Fee says that the election schedule for the Senate elections might be launched on March 14. Elections might be held on 48 vacant seats of the Senate.
There might be no election on the four vacant seats of FATA, the reserved seats of FATA have been abolished beneath the 25th constitutional modification.
Within the Election Fee declaration, it has been said that there might be election on 7 common, 2 ladies, 2 students/technocrats and one non-Muslim seat of Punjab.
The declaration stated that there might be election on 7 common seats, 2 ladies, 2 students/technocrats and one non-Muslim seat of Sindh.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could have elections on 7 common, 2 ladies, 2 students/technocrat seats, whereas Balochistan could have elections on 7 common, 2 ladies and a pair of students/technocrat seats.
Election Fee says that there might be election on 1 Basic and 1 Ulama/Technocrat seat of Federal Capital.
