ISLAMABAD: Zaka Ashraf is anticipated to get an extension as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PBC) Administration Committee until the fruits of the continuing World Cup 2023.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has acquired the abstract from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) for Ashraf’s extension as PCB high head whose four-month time period is ready to run out tomorrow (Saturday), sources stated.

The ultimate choice to switch or prolong Ashraf as PCB chief can be taken after the completion of the continuing mega-event whose closing is ready to happen on November 19, the sources added.

It’s pertinent to know that Ashraf had changed Najam Sethi as PCB supremo in July earlier this 12 months.

The event comes as the present PCB high head is dealing with allegations of flagrant misdoings and unconstitutional choices from a member of his personal administration committee as his tenure nears an finish.

Zulfiqar Malik, a member of the administration committee, raised these allegations in an electronic mail addressed to Ashraf and the administration committee, ESPNcricinfo reported.

In the meantime, former star all-rounder Shahid Afridi is more likely to get a “key position” within the PCB following his assembly with the prime minister, The Information reported on Thursday.

The board and Ashraf have been engulfed in controversies following the resignation of now-former chief selector Inzamam ul Haq, and Inexperienced Shirts’ skipper Babar Azam’s personal chat with a senior PCB official being leaked.
