Authorities in Italy mentioned that as many as 20 individuals died together with two youngsters Tuesday after a bus fell off a bridge straddling a railway line in Venice.
“The crash prompted a minimum of 20 deaths, together with two youngsters,” the spokesman instructed AFP.
Firefighters mentioned the bus caught hearth after careering off a bridge linking the Mestre and Marghera districts of the northern Italian metropolis.
“A tragedy has struck our neighborhood this night”, mayor Luigi Brugnaro wrote on Fb, describing the positioning of the crash as “an apocalyptic scene”.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her “profound condolences”.
“I’m involved with Mayor Luigi Brugnaro and [Transport] Matteo Salvini in an effort to observe the information of this tragedy,” she mentioned in an announcement.
