Amending the Legislation of Handcuffing Suspects in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, the regulation concerning the handcuffing of suspects throughout arrest has been amended.

In line with the Saudi media, the Saudi authorities have permitted the modification of the regulation banning the handcuffing of the accused after their arrest, besides in excessive circumstances.

In line with the modification made on this regard, the accused shall not be handcuffed upon arrest until he harms himself or others or tries to flee from custody.

In line with stories, suggestions have been made on this regard, after which the regulation concerning handcuffing the accused has been amended.
